Become a Community Partner

Rooted in solid principles and research, the ABLE Network believes that when individuals with intellectual disabilities are included in natural, everyday settings, they gain equal opportunities to contribute to the health and vitality of their communities.

Any business with an inclusive attitude can benefit from having an ABLE participant on their team. Community partners provide a safe and inclusive environment where participants can grow their skills and independence.

ABLE staff collaborate closely with our partners to design meaningful work and service opportunities that bring value to the participants, the workplace and the community.

My introduction to ABLE was as a guest for the Aurora group’s Friday Social Luncheon. I enjoyed the experience so much I decided to volunteer once I retired. I joined the Stouffville chapter in 2019, and I’ve been there ever since. Working with the participants at the Bottle Shed has been very rewarding. The participants are a great group to work with, their commitment and enthusiasm makes volunteering a pleasure”.
